Undertale text box generator
Read out of the game's files
Every face here is a sprite from Undertale's data.win, and every letter comes from the game's own bitmap fonts rather than a fan-made copy. That shows most in Sans and Papyrus. The game nudges 6 of Sans' letters and 22 of Papyrus' by a pixel or more so their lines sit right, and the generator makes the same nudges.
The box is the one the game draws: 289 by 76 pixels with a 3 pixel white border, which comes out at 578 by 152 at the default 2× size. Letters appear one a frame at the game's 30 frames a second, 8 pixels apart (11 for Papyrus), on lines 18 pixels apart, three lines to a box. A longer speech carries on into the next box, the way it does in the game, and each voice blips on every letter except spaces.

The main font is 8bitoperator JVE at 12 pixels, the face the game uses for nearly all of its dialogue. Any character can borrow another's font or voice from the menus under the text. W. D. Gaster is in the list too, with no portrait: the Wingdings lettering, voice and slow typing of the hidden Entry Number 17 room. To read Wingdings back, use the Wingdings translator.
Colour and pause codes
| \R \Y \B \G | Red, yellow, blue, green |
| \O \L \P \p | Orange, light blue, purple, pink |
| \W | Back to white |
| ^1 to ^9 | Wait after the next letter: ^1 is a third of a second, ^9 is three seconds |
| Enter | A new line with its own asterisk |
These are the codes the game's own text uses. Deltarune's style, \cY and so on, works here too.
For the Dark World box with its turning corner jewels, use the Deltarune text box generator. For the logo lettering, there's the Undertale font generator.
