Standard Galactic Alphabet translator
Drawn from Minecraft's own font
The picture uses the enchanting table glyphs from Minecraft 26.3's own files, laid out the way the game lays out text: each letter is as wide as its pixels plus one, and a space is four. Capital and small letters are the same symbol. The alphabet has no digits or punctuation, so those fall back to Minecraft's regular font, as they do in the game.
The enchanting table's words mean nothing. The game builds each name from three or four of 62 words in its code, picked at random: Lovecraft (cthulhu, fhtagn), The Day the Earth Stood Still (klaatu berata niktu), the old Adventure game's xyzzy, and one baguette. They don't hint at the enchantment on offer. The random name button makes one the same way.
Tom Hall drew the alphabet for Commander Keen in 1990, where it labels signs on alien worlds, and Minecraft gave it to the enchanting table in 2011. For the game's regular lettering there's the Minecraft font generator.
