About halloween lettering
Halloween lettering borrows from three places. B-movie posters gave it the dripping, oozing letters of Creepster and Nosifer. Storybooks gave it crooked serifs, which is what Griffy and Henny Penny draw. Cut-paper decorations gave it letters that each sit at a slightly different angle, like Jolly Lodger. Orange on black is the cue nobody misses, and a soft glow does more than any texture. Set a short word big: these faces lose their character over a long line.
