About retro lettering
Retro display type is mostly a seventies idea: very tight spacing, fat rounded strokes and counters squeezed almost shut. Add a gradient from warm to cool and a glow and it reads as a period piece immediately, which is why the same three moves turn up on every synthwave cover.
